The Energy Consumption Visualisation allows Energy Managers on sites to reduce CO2 emissions. We need data to do this effectively. Currently, the energy meters at our sites are read manually and the process to get the data to the Corporate Network is a long and arduous process. In order to create usable data, we have been experimenting with Remote Telemetry to create a direct data feed available to the Azure Cloud, which will send energy meter readings directly to SFTP using cellular network more quickly. GSK successfully set up a foundation of transformative new cutting-edge technologies such as AI/ML to enhance the patient experience and support the salesforce. By combining advanced predictive patient analytics and Next Best Action, customer-facing teams are receiving timely and highly accurate insights to support their conversations with HCPs about Blenrep as an appropriate treatment option. To date, a 56% increase in Blenrep prescribing has been realised where reps have engaged specific HCPs as a result of the predictive patient insights.
ViiV teams in the UK and Spain are also benefiting from the NBA tool MARTii, to make data-driven decisions and provide a more personalised experience for their customers.

Atlas
We designed a new website for HCPs and localised it for different markets. This improved user experience has seen a significant increase in engagement, with HCPs spending more time browsing the site which has improved SEO. To enable us to replicate success, we created many reusable web components which can be scaled easily and re-used for other websites. We also removed custom code so we now have a modern, global, reusable design.

Advances in technology are rapidly increasing our ability to capture, analyse and share data, allowing us to generate scientific knowledge at an unprecedented pace. R&D Portfolio Management took a big step forward with delivery of Atlas – a DDA application within the R&D Data Marketplace. This will bring together all scientific knowledge generated in Research, Oncology, Global Health and Medicinal Science & Technology. Atlas will enable us to increase productivity by improving decision making, reducing cycle times and accelerating delivery of innovative medicines to patients. Learn more

When the pandemic in India took hold, we helped provide support to GSK employees, partners and their immediate families. GSK has procured oxygen concentrators to be used by immediate family members of employees/partners and Core Tech volunteers helped with vaccination drives, collaborated with ambulatory services, provided hospital beds, and more. Throughout, we continued our focus on business continuity, productivity and planning for shifting workloads to other geographies and progressed on the timely deliverables, knowledge transition and execution of critical activities and applications with our strategic partner, HCL. This is a unique programme bringing together GSK, a GSK-Tech partner (Cognizant) and an NGO (AMREF) in a collaboration to deliver a high-impact, needed solution to integrate tech platforms used by health workers across Africa. This is the first attempt at a multi-stakeholder programme, convening experts who are jointly committed to outcomes, and who contribute unique skills to the programme delivery.
In this agreement, we have an opportunity to reimagine and become a digital business with the strength, resilience, and discipline to compete at a time when the healthcare and life sciences industry is in a period of significant change – including disruption from innovative tech start-ups and established tech vendors. We continue to focus on culture while using science and technology to tackle some of the biggest global health challenges and delivering leading scientific and medical engagement. Digital technology is transforming how we develop new medicines, vaccines, and consumer healthcare products and how we interact with customers. Applying digital technology across our value chain is vital to address these challenges, and our strategic partnership with Microsoft is key to delivering this transformation.

As local government COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and access to GSK sites begin to lift, a joint team from Core Tech and WREF are making plans and preparations. COVID-19 has changed the ways in which we work either at home or in the office. The Return to Office teams has been gathering information based on employee experience, research and direct feedback. The team have identified priority focus areas to help optimise the employee experiences at seven core sites (UP, STV, GSK House, WAV/RIX, Asia House, Poznan). Learn more

We continue to work closely with our partners to grow our teams in the GCCs while prioritising our personal development by hosting our second Skills Development Week. Veeva QMS and OneCDS went live and are starting to make an impact (they are not just acronyms…)
We’ve progressed our Cosmos integration in EMEA, Brazil and our manufacturing sites, and we’re accelerating our focus on separation. We have around 1,200 apps, 1,100 business processes and over 4,000 interfaces in scope to separate. The big focus for Q3 for Process & System Separation is UAT readiness and cutover planning.
